מכתב תמיכה של עובדים מקומיים בשגרירויות ישראל ברחבי העולם בשביתת הדיפלומטים

בכל אחת מ-103 נציגויות ישראל בעולם, מועסקים, לצד הדיפלומטים, עובדים מקומיים המהווים את הכח המשלים ההכרחי לביצוע העבודה השוטפת בנציגויות.

אין המכירים כעובדים אלה את עבודת הדיפלומטים הישראליים ברחבי העולם.

למעלה ממאה וארבעים מן העובדים המקומיים בנציגויות ישראל ברחבי העולם, מאוסטרליה במזרח ועד ארה"ב במערב, מפינלנד בצפון ועד מצרים בדרום, חתמו על מכתב תמיכה בשביתת עובדי משרד החוץ, בו הם קוראים, כמי שמכירים היטב את העבודה המבוצעת בידי שליחי משרד החוץ, לפתרון מהיר של סכסוך העבודה תוך התחשבות בדרישות העובדים.

Your Excellencies!

We, undersigned, the locally engaged staff of the Israeli diplomatic missions abroad, hereby appeal to your attention.

Without being Israeli citizens we are happy and proud to work for the benefit of the country to which many of us feel both professional and strong personal attachment.

We support the Israeli diplomats' claims, which are being put in the frame of the current labor dispute. We work together and we are everyday evidence of their devotion to the country and pursuing of its interests. It was only high necessity which made the diplomatic corps to resort to such an extreme measure as strike.

We believe that the important and necessary work that the state of Israel does to promote the country's image abroad and to develop international cooperation should be supported by well-deserved living standards for those people who perform this work selflessly.

We ask you to pay your attention to the strikers' demands and facilitate resolution of the labor conflict. We hope that it will happen as soon as possible in order not to suspend further the important projects and programs, which are being implemented for the country's good by the Israeli diplomatic missions all over the world.
